A seminar on “Gandhi and Women Empowerment” was conducted in the auditorium of the Nirmala College on 29th Mar, 2017. The seminar was inaugurated by the lightning of lamp by Mr. B.B.Pradhan, DGP, Jharkhand Home guards. Sister Dr. Jyoti Kispotta (Principal, Nirmala College) welcomed the participants along with the guests and officially commenced the seminar with a message to move forward with high spirit. Mr. Pradhan addressed the students on the topic “Patriarchy, Gandhi and Women Empowerment”, in which he shared the views of Gandhi on patriarchal society and how it can be changed. The seminar was formally inaugurated by the Principal, Prof E A Aind and started. She welcomed the guests and participants with the message that the seminar must leave some impact in the lives of the girls. Mr. Ajay Kumar, President, Pratigya introduced Pratigya and Gandhi Smriti & Darshan Samiti. Telling about the women empower he also sentized the girls about the cyber crimes happening in the society and specially related to the girls. Then after Prof B. K.Sinha, HOD, Department of Political Science, St. Xavier’s College, shared the views of Gandhiji towards the women population. He also told the children that Gandhiji was a great supporter of women empowerment.
It was a great seminar at the Amity University, Ranchi. The students were quite interactive and were very sensitive to the topic.
