Srijan Bachpan Project :
In the course of our personal interactions with the children in certain slums, we realized that with the vouchers, evaluation-monitoring-encouragement is necessary for bringing a positive light to their lives. With regular evaluation, every Saturday, we organize extracurricular activities, motivational games and various other sessions with the aim to identify and encourage latent talents like singing, drawing and so on.We realized that some of our voucher recipients who had transferred from Government to Private schools lagged far behind their peers. Class V government school children were unable to read, write or even count. The situation was so grave that we had to admit certain Class IV Government school children to Class I in the Private school. Therefore, we instituted the Srijan Bachpan programme to provide supplementary education.
Srijan Bacpan has been instituted with the objective to teach them basic life skills , sensitise them towards themselves and their surrounding, ensure the regularity in attendance and consistency in motivation in their studies, enhance the confidence level, increase participation in other activities of the schools, identify the extracurricular talents among them and to facilitate the growth and development of their specific talents and skills. To facilitate these improvement and growth in their lives , every week a 3 hours session is organised which includes counselling , motivational games , mental ability enhancement exercises , and extracurricular activities like art and craft, singing, dancing etc. Different counsellors and experts from fields of art and craft were invited in the period of last two and half years. This project proved instrumental in bringing the envisaged change and betterment in the personal as well as academic lives of the children.
