Working with Pratigya was the first time my code left my laptop and landed in front of real users. I came in expecting to write features and left having learned something harder: how to build for people whose constraints are nothing like mine. The team gave me genuine ownership over the platform’s features and trusted me to figure out the parts that I did not know yet. This experience changed how I think about engineering. It stopped being a technical exercise and started being a responsibility.
Working with Pratigya was genuinely one of the most rewarding things I've been part of. My team and I built a dashboard to help teach basic finance concepts to women and young girls, with lessons and assignments made just for them, plus a simple way for the Pratigya team to keep track of everyone's progress along the way.
What stood out to me most wasn't the project itself, it was Pratigya. The team is so genuinely passionate about what they do, and you can feel that in everything, from how thoughtfully they think about the women and girls they serve to how welcoming they were to us as volunteers. It never felt like just another project; it felt like we were being brought into something they truly care about.
Financial literacy can be life-changing — it gives women more independence and confidence in decisions that affect their whole family. Getting to be a small part of that, and to work alongside a team that cares so deeply about their mission, was incredibly meaningful. I'm really grateful for the chance to contribute, and I came away with so much respect for the work Pratigya does every day.
